Jeremiah 33 v 3. “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

This promise given to the prophet Jeremiah, also has a wider application to the people of God. We may call out to God for understanding of His word and His purposes in our lives.

But there is no point in calling out to a God who does not hear us, is there? But the truth is He does indeed hear us and invites us constantly to come to Him with our prayers.

Note the following examples from the book of Psalms.

Psalm 61 v 1. Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.

This was David’s conviction when he prayed. He believed he would be heard.

Psalm 64 v 1.  Hear me, O God, as I voice my complaint….

Here David brings his urgent trouble to the Lord’s attention.

Psalm 65 v 2. O you who hear prayer, to you all men will come.

In this place David comes to God for forgiveness for sinful failure.

Psalm 66 v 3. Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds”

Have you thought of saying that to God in prayer?

Have you rehearsed back to Him all He has done for you?

Psalm 62 v 8 is a great exhortation for us all and I will use it as an exhortation to us all in place of the daily prayer.

“Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him for God is our refuge. Selah”
